Timberscombe History Group

Are you interested in local history?
If so, put 4th June St Petrock’s Church 7.00pm in your diary

A number of people have expressed an interest in forming a Village History Group in Timberscombe, especially since last June when so many people came along to the talk Mary Siraut (County Editor of the Somerset Victoria County History)  gave on ‘Timberscombe and its Neighbours’.

We have a wealth of material to explore, enjoy and record in our community and it would be fitting for a history group to meet in one of the most ancient buildings on Exmoor. Only 20 buildings on Exmoor are Grade 1 Listed and St Petrock’s Church is one of them.

The first meeting will be held  4th June St Petrock’s Church at 7.00pm so please do spread the word about this group. You are warmly invited to come along and chat about how this might be organised and how regularly it might meet. There is no agenda, just enthusiasm for such a group to develop and a willingness to enjoy a heritage activity.

Please come along and join us!
