Exmoor National Park Local Plan
At its meeting on 4th July 2017, Exmoor National Park Authority resolved to adopt the Exmoor National Park Local Plan 2011-2031 (including minerals and waste policies), which wholly supersedes the saved policies of the previous Exmoor National Park Local Plan (2005).
The Local Plan promotes sustainable development, which enables local communities and businesses to thrive, whilst conserving and enhancing the National Park’s special qualities. The Plan includes a vision, objectives, strategic priorities and also contains both strategic planning policies and development management policies, which will guide development and the use of land in Exmoor National Park until 2031. Now adopted, the Local Plan is the statutory development plan and forms the basis for planning decisions within Exmoor National Park.
The adopted Local Plan, together with its Policies Map and adoption statement, are available online. Alternatively, the Local Plan and associated documents can be viewed at the offices of Exmoor National Park Authority and North Devon and West Somerset councils as indicated in the attached adoption statement.
